A 2d platformer game I made for competition back in high school. The challenge was to make a retro style video game with a narrative within 3 months. Everything from the story to the code was created by me in three months and the game was entered for competition through Future Business Leaders of America.
The story was inspired by my struggles at them time. I was struggling with being too selfless; and so I built the mechanics of the game around that idea. The game follows the main character as they 'face their fears' AKA bosses. Each level they meet a NPC which they can either give a life to help that NPC or continue onto the next level. The game concluded with the player defeating two bosses, and based on their earlier actions, NPCs would choose to either help the player or not.
